Daintree Coffee Company originated from a café situated in the heart of the iconic Daintree Rainforest in Far North Queensland Australia. Originally formed through the need to diversify in a seasonal area, which relies heavily on both the domestic and international tourist trade.
Committed to promoting and showcasing sustainable local produce we were influenced by the availability and excellent quality of local coffee plantations. Far North Queensland is Australia’s largest coffee producing area and the birthplace of some of the original coffee plantations, giving us the opportunity and the ability to utilise, promote and support high quality Australian produce.
We believe that there are excellent primary producers in Australia that are implementing sustainable and environmentally friendly farming methods, reducing food miles and therefore reducing the international carbon Footprint.
Australia does not have the usual pests that are associated with coffee production overseas so there is no need for the use of pesticides and insecticides.
Daintree Coffee Company does not need to identify with Free Trade or Rainforest Alliance….why? Because Daintree Coffee Company only uses 100% Australian Grown Beans from plantations which use sustainable farming methods meaning there is no need for us to be associated with international groups such as Free Trade or Rainforest Alliance.
Daintree Coffee is a premium product that has been produced for both the commercial and domestic coffee market, from cafes, restaurants, delis and gift shops through to home and office coffee connoisseurs. We hope you enjoy your coffee.
